Every year, Key West hosts the Florida Keys Invitational Baseball Tournament which attracts some of the best collegiate and minor league teams from around the country.

Since the 1940s, Key West has had a long love affair with baseball. In fact, the city is home to one of the oldest baseball teams in the country, the Key West Conchs. The Conchs are a semi-professional team that plays in the historic Baseball Grounds of Arnaldo T. Lopez Jr..

Many of the games are played against teams from other parts of Florida, as well as teams from Cuba and the Bahamas. The Conchs also play in an annual tournament called the Florida Keys Cup.

The history of baseball in Key West

Key West was home to several Minor League teams over the years, including the Key West Conchs, Key West Sunsets, and Key West High Islanders. Baseball greats such as Satchel Paige and Babe Ruth played on Key West teams at one time or another.

The island even had its own version of the game, called “Key West Baseball ” which was played with only nine players on a small diamond.

Despite its love for the game, Key West has never been home to a Major League team. However, that may change in the future; the Miami Marlins have expressed interest in building a spring training facility on the island.

The Key West Baseball League

The Key West baseball league is a semi-Professional Baseball League located in Key West, Florida. The league was founded in 2008, and currently consists of six teams. The league plays a Spring Training schedule from March to May, and a Fall schedule from September to November.

The Key West High School Baseball team

Key West High School has a long and proud tradition of baseball excellence. The Key West high school baseball team has won numerous state and National Championships and is widely regarded as one of the premier high school baseball programs in the country. The Key West high school baseball team is also a perennial power in the Florida State League, and has produced several Major League Baseball players.

The Key West Little League

The Key West Little League is a non-profit organization that provides baseball programs for children ages 4-16. We are dedicated to providing a positive and fun environment for our players, while teaching them the skills they need to succeed on and off the field.

The Key West Adult baseball League

The Key West Adult baseball league is a local league that has been around since the early 1990s. The league plays its games at historic Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. The league is made up of teams from all over the island, and each team varies in skill level.

The Key West Fall baseball League

The Key West Fall Baseball League is a baseball league that plays its games in the fall in the Florida Keys. The league was founded in 2001 by Curt Coleman, Key West’s minor league baseball and Conchs’ Head Coach The league consists of four teams: the Key West Conchs, the Marathon Marlins, the Islamorada Sand Sharks, and the Big Pine Bluefish. The Conchs have won the league’s only two championships, in 2002 and 2003.
