La Tech baseball field Gets a Makeover – The La Tech Baseball Field has gotten a makeover just in time for the new season!
La Tech Baseball Field Gets a New Look
The Louisiana Tech baseball team will have a new look when they take the field this season. The school’s athletic department unveiled the updated design of J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
The changes include a new digital scoreboard in left field new LED lighting and updated dugouts and bullpens. The project was funded by private donations and cost a total of $1.5 million.
“This is a really big deal for us,” Head Coach Greg Goff said. “It’s going to be a huge upgrade for our program and our fans. We can’t wait to show it off.”
The Bulldogs are scheduled to open their season on February 16th at home against Southern Miss
La Tech Baseball Field Gets a Makeover
The Louisiana Tech baseball team is getting a brand new field to call home. The school announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement with Turfco Manufacturing to install a brand new state-of-the-art Turf Field at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
The field will be installed in time for the 2019 season and will feature the same turf that is used by Major League Baseball teams, according to a press release from the school.
“We are extremely excited to partner with Turfco Manufacturing on this project,” Louisiana Tech director of athletics Tommy McClelland said in the release. “This new turf field will be a tremendous asset for our baseball program and our student-athletes. It will also be a great addition for our fans as they watch Bulldog baseball games in person and on television.”
The agreement with Turfco Manufacturing is for 10 years, and the company will also have the option to extend the agreement for an additional five years.

The Louisiana Tech Baseball Field will have a new name for the 2018 season. It will now be called J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park, in honor of the late Tech athletics director and former baseball coach
“This is a great day for Louisiana Tech Athletics and for our Baseball Program ” said Tech Director of Athletics Tommy McClelland. “To be able to honor two men who have meant so much to our university and our athletic department is very special. We are extremely grateful to the Love family and all of the donors who made this possible.”
The facility underwent a $5 million renovation prior to the 2017 season that included a new playing surface, lights, dugouts, bullpens,grandstands and press box.

La Tech baseball field has a new sponsor, and the makeover is already underway. The school announced the 10-year, $1 million deal with Dr Pepper on Wednesday. As part of the agreement, the field will be renamed Dr Pepper Ballpark.

The Louisiana Tech Baseball Team will have a new look when they take the field this season. The Bulldogs have installed new turf at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park, replacing the old synthetic surface that had been in place since the facility’s renovation prior to the 2013 campaign.
“We are extremely excited to have new turf in our facility,” said head coach Lane Burroughs. “This is something that our players and staff have been looking forward to for a long time, and I want to thank our administration for making it happen.”
The project, which cost a little over $500,000, began in early August and was completed last week. The new turf is FieldTurf’s Diamond Series, which is the same type of surface that is used at Alex Box Stadium – home of LSU baseball – as well as Dudy Noble Field at Polk-DeMent Stadium (Mississippi State) and Hoover Metropolitan Stadium (Alabama).

The Louisiana Tech baseball team is getting a new scoreboard thanks to a generous donation from an alumni couple.
The new scoreboard will be installed at the beginning of the 2019 season and will be located in left-center field. It will be 30 feet wide and 14 feet tall, and will feature a video display that is nearly twice as large as the current scoreboard.
The cost of the project is approximately $250,000, and it is being funded entirely by donations. The lead donors are Gary and Shannon Lapeyre, who are Louisiana Tech alumni.
