Since Louisiana Tech baseball’s humble beginnings in 1909, the team has seen its fair share of ups and downs. However, under the leadership of Head Coach Lane Burroughs, the team is once again on the rise.

For those unfamiliar with Louisiana Tech baseball the team competes in NCAA Division I baseball as a member of Conference USA The team plays its home games at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park, located on the Louisiana Tech University campus in Ruston, Louisiana.

Despite its long history, Louisiana Tech Baseball has only seen moderate success over the years. The team’s first and only NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament appearance came in 1987, and it wasn’t until 2013 that the team won its first Conference USA Tournament Championship In recent years however, the team has begun to turn things around.

Under Burroughs’ leadership, the team has made three consecutive NCAA regional appearances and won two Conference USA Tournament championships (2017 and 2019). The team has also produced several Major League Baseball draft picks including pitcher Parker Bugg in 2018 and infielder Chase Lunceford in 2019.

Looking to 2020 and beyond, Louisiana Tech Baseball appears to be on track for continued success. With a young but talented roster led by Burroughs, the sky is the limit for this rising program.

The Bulldogs have been Louisiana’s top Baseball Team for years, and they don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The team’s rivals, including the LSU Tigers and Tulane Green Wave are feeling the pressure to keep up with Louisiana Tech’s success.

LSU has long been considered Louisiana’s top baseball team but the Tigers have struggled in recent years to match Louisiana Tech’s success. The Tigers haven’t won a College World Series since 2009, and they’ve only made it to the tournament three times in the last 10 years.

Tulane has also fallen behind Louisiana Tech in recent years. The Green Wave haven’t made it to the College World Series since 2005, and they’ve only made it to the tournament four times in school history.
