The LaSalle Women’s basketball team defeated Fordham on Saturday night with a final score of 70-58. The game was close throughout, with LaSalle leading by only one point at halftime. But the Explorers pulled away in the second half behind strong performances from senior guard Ashley Gale and junior forward Amina Simplice.

Simplice led all scorers with 22 points and added eight rebounds, while Gale had 18 points and six assists. Senior forward Bria Smith also had a solid game, finishing with 12 points and eight rebounds.

The win was a big one for LaSalle, as it moved them into first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference Standings The Explorers will look to maintain their position at the top of the conference when they take on St. Louis on Wednesday night.
