The History of Mason Baseball

Mason baseball is a team on the rise. In recent years the team has seen significant success, including a conference championship in 2017. The team has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1894.

The Mason Baseball Team was founded in 1894. The team was originally a part of the Mason Athletic Club. The team played its first game against Georgetown University The game ended in a tie.

In 1896, the team joined the Potomac Valley baseball league The league was short-lived and only lasted for two seasons. During the 1896 season, the Mason baseball team had a record of 9-1-1.

In 1898, the team joined the Metropolitan amateur baseball Association. The league was made up of teams from Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. During the 1898 season, the Mason baseball team had a record of 11-5-0.

The early years of Mason Baseball were marked by success. The team won several conference championships and even made it to the College World Series in 1953. However, the team’s fortunes changed in the late 1950s and early 1960s as it struggled to compete against larger schools.

In recent years however, Mason baseball has seen a resurgence. The team has won several conference championships and made it to the College World Series again in 2017. With a rich history and bright future Mason baseball is a team to watch!

The Current Roster

The Mason Baseball Team is composed of students from all walks of life, united by their common love for the game. The team is currently coached by Mike Dolan, who has been with the program for six seasons. Under his leadership, the team has seen a significant improvement in their overall record.

The Coaching Staff

The Mason Baseball team has seen a lot of success in recent years and much of that is due to the hard work and dedication of the Coaching Staff

Head coach Tim Chambers has been with the team for six years, and during that time, the team has won two conference championships and made three trips to the NCAA Tournament Chambers was named Coach of the Year in 2016, and he was inducted into the Mason Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017.

Assistant coach Matt Hoyle has been with the team for four years, and during that time, the team has won one Conference Championship and made two trips to the NCAA tournament Hoyle also serves as the team’s pitching coach, and under his tutelage, Mason pitchers have set numerous school records.

Assistant coach Zach Warren joined the team in 2018 and has helped the team to two conference championships and one trip to the NCAA tournament Warren also serves as the team’s hitting coach, and under his guidance, Mason hitters have flourished.

The coaching staff at Mason is among the best in the country, and they have helped to turn Mason baseball into a powerhouse program.

The Schedule

The 2020 Mason baseball schedule is highlighted by home games against George Washington VCU, and Saint Joseph’s. The Patriots will also travel to UNC Wilmington East Carolina and Liberty.

The Facilities

Mason Baseball is a team on the rise, and the facilities are a big part of that. The new training facility is state of the art, and the team has access to some of the best technology in baseball This gives the team an edge when it comes to player development and preparation for games.

The Fans

Mason baseball is a team on the rise, and the fans are a big part of that. They come to every game dressed in Mason gear, ready to cheer on their team. They make a lot of noise, and they love to get involved in the game.

The players appreciate the support, and they say it makes a difference. “It’s great to see all the fans out here,” said third baseman Matt Drury. “They really get us fired up.”

The team is off to a good start this season, and the fans are already making plans to follow them all the way to the playoffs.

The Future of Mason Baseball

Mason baseball is a team on the rise. After a historic 2019 season in which they won the conference tournament and made their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament the team is primed to continue their success in 2020.

The team is returning a core group of talented players, including All-American pitcher Brendan McKay and All-Region infielder Josh Stowers. With another year of experience under their belts, this Mason team is poised to make some noise in the 2020 season.

Others, like John McMullen, have used their business acumen to become owners and operators of Major League franchises.

Still others have become involved in broadcasting, coaching, or working in baseball operations for various organizations. Whatever their chosen path, Mason Baseball alumni are making their mark on the Game of Baseball
