McConnell played four seasons in the NBA and was a member of the Philadelphia 76ers’ 2017-18 championship team.
McConnell’s NBA Career
Prior to joining the NBA, McConnell played four seasons of college basketball for the Arizona State Sun Devils He was drafted in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 56th overall pick. He was later traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder on draft night. McConnell made his Nba Debut in November 2015 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
During his rookie season, McConnell played sparingly for the Thunder, averaging 1.2 points and 1.0 assists per game in 24 games. On February 21, 2016, he was traded to the Orlando Magic in exchange for Ladarius White. Six days later, he was waived by the Magic after appearing in three games for them. On March 1, 2016, he was acquired by the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA Development League On April 4, 2016, he was recalled by the Thunder.
On October 25, 2016, McConnell signed with Arizona Laboratories NBA of Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). However, he left Arizona Laboratories after just one game and returned to Oklahoma City on December 1, 2016.
On January 2, 2017, McConnell signed a 10-day contract with the Indiana Pacers On January 12, 2017, he had his second 10-day contract expired without being signed for a rest-of-season deal by Indiana; nine days later on January 21 he signed a multi-year contract with Indiana that guaranteed him a roster spot through at least next season.”
Playing for the Indiana Pacers
After playing for the Indiana Pacers for four seasons, McConnell was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2017. He has played for the Sixers for two seasons.
Being Traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder
In September 2008, the then-SuperSonics traded Ray Allen and Glen Davis to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Jeff Green Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West and a second-Round Draft pick in 2010. This move signaled the beginning of the end of the Sonics’ existence; it was their final season in Seattle before moving to Oklahoma City and becoming the Thunder. For his part, McConnell didn’t get much playing time during his lone season with the Sonics, averaging 2.4 points and 1.6 assists in 10.7 minutes per game.
Signing with the Philadelphia 76ers
In 2001, after being drafted out of High School with the fourth pick in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers, McConnell joined a young 76ers team that also included Allen Iverson and Dikembe Mutombo The following year, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns along with Matthew Barnes in exchange for Joe Smith and Brian Shaw McConnell played two seasons for the Suns before being waived in 2003.
Playing for the Sixers
During his time with the Sixers, McConnell proved to be a key player and averaged 6.3 points per game 3.2 rebounds per game and 5.5 assists per game He also shot 45.8% from the field and 31.8% from three-point range
Being Traded to the Phoenix Suns
In February 1998, the Suns traded Danny Manning and two future first-round draft picks to the Clippers for Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, George McCloud and A.C. Green. In his first season with the Suns, McConnell helped lead them to a Western Conference Finals berth.
Signing with the Houston Rockets
On July 13, 2007, McConnell signed with the Houston Rockets He was then waived on October 26, 2007.

NBA career
In the NBA, McConnell played for the Houston Rockets Orlando Magic Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks He averaged 1.8 points and 2.0 assists in his NBA Career
On July 12, 2016, McConnell was traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for cash considerations. On January 6, 2017, he was waived by the Rockets.
On February 22, 2017, McConnell signed a 10-day contract with the Orlando Magic He was not retained by the Magic following the expiration of his contract and subsequently joined their NBA G League affiliate, the Lakeland Magic on March 3. Two days later, he was waived by Lakeland.
On March 29, 2017, McConnell signed with the Indiana Pacers for the rest of the season after being bought out from his Lakeland contract earlier that day. He made his debut for Indiana that night against his former team, the Orlando Magic
On September 25, 2018 McConnell signed with Fenerbahçe of Turkey but left before appearing in a game for them due to a foot injury which he suffered during preseason workouts with Fenerbahçe on September 23. On November 28 he returned to America and signed with the Milwaukee Bucks after he reached a buyout agreement with Fenerbahçe on November 27 .
Being Traded to the Milwaukee Bucks
On July 6, 2018, McConnell was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for cash considerations.[17] He made his debut for the Bucks on October 18, starting in place of the injured Eric Bledsoe and scoring 10 points with four assists and three steals in a 108–89 win over the Charlotte Hornets [18][19] On January 5, 2019, he scored a then career-high 19 points in a 115–105 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers [20] Four days later, he had 11 points and set a new career high with 12 assists in a 121–119 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.[21]
Signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers
In July 2014, McConnell signed a partially guaranteed two-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers He attend their training camp but was waived by the team on October 25, 2014.
