In its Season Opener the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders men’s Basketball team pulled away in the second half to defeat the Lipscomb Bisons, 74-64. The game was played in front of a raucous home crowd at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The Blue Raiders were led by senior forward Reggie Upshaw, who scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Sophomore guard Giddy Potts added 15 points and junior guard Jaqawn Raymond chipped in 11.
The Bison were led by junior forward Garrison Mathews, who scored 19 points. Senior center Rob Marberry added 11 points and eight rebounds.
The Blue Raiders outscored the Bison 40-28 in the second half to secure the victory. Middle Tennessee State will next take on Austin Peay on November 17th.
