Mt Si Basketball is Back

Mt Si High School’s boys’ basketball team is back and ready to take on their opponents this season. After a rough start to the season, the team has pulled together and is now playing their best basketball of the year. With a strong lineup of players, the team is poised to make a run at the state championship

Head coach Jon Montgomery is confident in his team’s ability to compete at a high level. “We’ve got a lot of young talent on this team,” he said. “I’m excited to see what they can do on the court.”

The team’s first game is against Bellevue High School on December 3rd. Be sure to come out and support the Mountaineers!

The Schedule is Set

The regular season for high school basketball in Washington State starts on
November 28th, with the first games being played on that Tuesday. The Mount Si high school Basketball team will have their first game at home against Newport high school with the game starting at 7:00 PM. The game will be followed by another Home game against Inglemoor high school on Friday, December 1st.

Additionally, we are seeing some great new talent coming up through the ranks of our Junior varsity and freshman teams. These players have the potential to be difference-makers at the varsity level, and we can’t wait to see what they can do.

This year’s team is led by senior captain Jake Luton, who is averaging 16 points per game Luton is supported by a strong group of teammates, including junior Ryan Melsheimer and sophomore Alex Libertucci.

The team’s success is a testament to the hard work of Head Coach Scott Thompson and his staff. They have instilled a culture of excellence that has resulted in one of the top programs in the state.
