North Dakota’s Class B Basketball Tournament an overview
The North Dakota Class B Basketball Tournament is an annual event held in different cities across the state. The tournament is open to any team that meets the classification requirements set by the North Dakota high school Activities Association The tournament consists of four rounds, with each round played at a different location. The first two rounds are held at campus sites, while the semifinal and final rounds are played at the Bismarck Civic Center.
The tournament begins on Tuesday of the week in which it is held, with the first round of games played that day. The second round is played on Wednesday, with the semifinals on Thursday and the finals on Friday. All games are played in front of a sell-out crowd at the Bismarck Civic Center, with fans coming from all over the state to support their team.

-Game 2: #5 Mandan vs. #4 Minot, 2 p.m.
-Game 3: #6 Jamestown vs. #3 Dickinson, 6 p.m.
-Game 4: #7 Wahpeton vs. #2 Williston, 8 p.m.
Second Round (Friday, March 6)
-Game 5: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2, 12 p.m.

The first North Dakota Class B basketball tournament was held in 1919, making it one of the oldest high school Basketball Tournaments in the country. The original tournament featured just eight teams, but it has since expanded to include 16 teams.
Over the years, the North Dakota Class B Basketball Tournament has been won by some of the state’s most storied basketball programs The Fargo Shanley high school Deacons have won a record 13 championship titles, followed by the MinotMagicians with 12 titles. Other notable programs include the Grand Forks Central Knights (11 titles), the Bismarck Century Patriots (10 titles), and the Jamestown Blue Jays (9 titles).
The 2020 North Dakota Class B Basketball Tournament will be held from February 27-29 at the Minot Auditorium.

The North Dakota Class B basketball tournament is an annual event that takes place in late February/early March. The tournament is open to any public or private school in North Dakota that enrolls students in grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of less than 275 students.
This year’s tournament will be held February 28th-March 2nd at the Bismarck Event Center. 32 teams will be divided into 4 pools of 8 teams each. The teams will play a round-robin within their pool, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the single-elimination championship bracket.
