The Coaches

Coaching is vital to any Sports Team especially baseball. The coaches of the Newton County baseball team are excited for the new season. They have been working hard to ensure that the team is ready for their first game.

The Head Coach Tim Johnson, has been coaching for Newton County for four years. He is a former professional baseball player and has a wealth of experience to offer his team. He is assisted by two assistant coaches Steve Perez and John Lewandowski. Both coaches have been with the team for two years and are passionate about helping the team succeed.

The coaches have been working hard to prepare the team for their first game. They have been focused on teaching the players the importance of teamwork and discipline. They believe that if the team works together, they will be able to achieve their goal of winning the championship.

From dedicated season ticket holders to those who come out for a game or two each year, Cougars fans are some of the most passionate in all of minor League Baseball And why wouldn’t they be? Our team has been consistently competitive over the past decade, making it to the playoffs six times and even winning a championship in 2010.

The Stadium

Newton County Baseball is back and the fans are gearing up for another exciting season! The home team the Newton County Fighting Squirrels, will be playing their first game of the season at their new stadium, Appleton Field. The stadium was built to replace the old one, which was demolished last year.

Appleton Field is a state-of-the-art facility that was built with the fan experience in mind. The stadium features a concourse that runs around the entire perimeter of the seating bowl, so fans can always be close to the action. There are also concession stands and restrooms located throughout the concourse.

The seating bowl itself is very spacious, with a capacity of 8,000 people. The seats are all made of comfortable fabric, and there are plenty of cup holders located throughout the stadium. There is also a large video screen in center field that will keep fans updated on the game.
