-After each goal, both teams must line up on their respective blue lines and wait for the referee to drop the puck between them. This is called a face-off.

NHL Challenge Scoring

The official scoring system for the NHL Challenge is as follows:

Goal: 1 point
Save: 0.5 points
Shot on goal: 0.2 points
missed shot -0.1 points
Penalty: -0.2 points
Goaltender win: 2 points
Goaltender shutout: 4 points

To score a point, the player’s team must have the puck in their offensive zone and the player must shoot the puck and score past the goaltender. If the shot is blocked, or goes wide of the net, no point is awarded. A save is awarded to a goaltender if they prevent a goal from being scored when the opposing team has possession of the puck in their offensive zone A shot on goal is counted when a player takes a shot that goes towards the net, regardless of whether or not it results in a goal. A missed shot is counted when a player takes a shot that does not go towards the net, or if the puck is blocked before it reaches the net. A penalty is given when a player breaks one of the rules of hockey and is sent to the Penalty Box as a result. A goaltender win is awarded to the goaltender of the winning team and a shutout is awarded if they do not allow any goals to be scored against them throughout the entire game.
