During this time period, NW Rankin also earned the reputation of being one of the top High school baseball programs in the nation, finishing ranked in the top 25 of USA Today’s national High School Baseball poll on 5 occasions.

In 2005, Coach Tyler retired from coaching and was replaced by his Assistant Coach Lance Evans. Coach Evans has continued the tradition of excellence established by Coach Tyler, leadingNW Rankin to 3 state championships and 4 runner-up finishes in his 13 years at the helm. In total, NW Rankin has won 11 state championships and has been runner-up 9 times since 1990.
