Williams was a four-star recruit coming out of High School and was ranked as the #32 player in the nation by ESPN He was named Mr. Basketball of Illinois in 2019 after averaging 21.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game for Toledo high school Williams had a strong showing in Purdue’s exhibition game against Bellarmine, scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds in just 28 minutes of play. He is expected to be one of the Boilermakers’ top scorers and rebounders this season.

Zach Edey is a 7’4″ center from Toronto, Canada. Edey was also a four-star recruit coming out of high school and was ranked as the #52 player in the nation by ESPN. He averaged 13 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks per game as a senior at The Hill Academy Edey did not play in the exhibition game due to an ankle injury, but he is expected to be healthy for the start of the regular season He will provide Purdue with valuable size and shot-blocking ability in the paint.

Guards:

Jared Nickens is a 6’7″ guard from Baltimore, Maryland. Nickens originally played for Maryland before transferring to Purdue after his sophomore season. He sat out last season due to NCAA transfer rules but will be eligible to play this season. Nickens is known for his outside shooting ability; he made 39% of his three-point attempts during his two seasons at Maryland. Nickens could see significant playing time this season as one of Purdue’s primary shooters off the bench.
