The NHL playoffs are underway and the second round is set to begin.

The first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs is in the books and it did not disappoint. We saw several upsets, close games, and plenty of goals. The second round is set to begin and there are some great match-ups in store.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will take on the Boston Bruins in what should be a very close series. The Lightning are coming off a difficult seven-game series against the Detroit Red Wings while the Bruins had a relatively easy time dispatching of the Ottawa Senators in five games. In goal, both teams have Vezina Trophy finalists, with Tuukka Rask of the Bruins up against Ben Bishop of the Lightning. This series could go either way, but I think the Tampa Bay Lightning will come out on top in seven games.

Another great second-round matchup is between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals These two teams met in last year’s playoffs and it was a very close series that went seven games. This year, I think we could see a similar outcome. Both teams have strong offenses led by some of the best players in the league, but both defenses are suspect. In goal, Braden Holtby has been excellent for the Capitals all season long while Marc-Andre Fleury has been up and down for the Penguins. I think this series will come down to which goalie can steal a couple of games, and I give that edge to Holtby and the Capitals. I think Washington will win this series in seven games once again.

The final second-round matchup is between two Western Conference teams, as the Nashville Predators take on the San Jose Sharks This should be a great series between two very evenly matched teams. The Sharks are coming off a tough victory over the Los Angeles Kings in seven games, while Nashville had no trouble dispatching of Anaheim in just six games. In goal, Martin Jones has been excellent for San Jose all season long, while Pekka Rinne has been solid for Nashville. I think this series will be close throughout but ultimately it will be won by San Jose in seven games

This will be a matchup of two of the best teams in the NHL, and it should be a great series. The Lightning are led by forwards Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos, while the Bruins have forwards Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron. Both teams have strong defenses, so it should be a low-scoring series.

The first two games of the series will be played in Tampa Bay and if necessary, games five and seven will also be played there. The Bruins will have home-ice advantage for games three and four, and if necessary, game six. The schedule for the series is as follows:

The Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins are the top two seeds in the East, and they will also face off in the second round. This is a rematch of last year’s second-round series, which the Capitals won in six games.

The Capitals are coming off a dominant performance in their first-round series against the Columbus Blue Jackets winning in six games. They will look to continue that success against a Penguins team that struggled at times against the Philadelphia Flyers.

This should be a great series between two of the best teams in the NHL. Be sure to tune in!

The Predators are led by goalie Pekka Rinne, who was excellent in the first round against the Colorado Avalanche. The Jets are led by their dynamic offense, which scored a league-high 15 goals in the first round against the Minnesota Wild This series should be a great one and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

This should be a great series between two evenly matched teams. The Golden Knights have home ice advantage, but the Sharks have experience on their side. Neither team is an easy out and this could be one of the best series of the playoffs.
