Qualification into the playoffs is a competitive process. trailing close behind is Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin with 8 goals and 13 assists for 21 points in 18 games.

Rounding out the top three is Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos with 7 goals and 13 assists for 20 points in 17 games.

Most Shots on Goal

In the NHL playoffs most goals scored is not always the decider of who moves on and who goes home. In order to make it to the next round, a team must prove their mettle in all areas of the game, including how many shots they take. The team that shoots the puck more is often the team that wins.

So far this postseason, Tampa Bay Lightning’s Brayden Point leads the way with 61 shots on goal. Next is San Jose Sharks’ Logan Couture with 46, then Vegas Golden Knights’ Max Pacioretty with 43.
