SDSU Jacks Women’s Basketball post-game commentary
SDSU Jacks Women’s Basketball team defeated USD in an exhibition game on Saturday afternoon. The game was a rematch of last year’s Regular season finale, which SDSU won handily. This time around, the Jacks were able to come away with the victory in a closely contested battle.
The game was back and forth throughout, with neither team able to gain a significant edge. SDSU took an early lead, but USD battled back to tie the game at halftime. The second half was much of the same, with neither team able to pull away. In the end, it was SDSU who made the plays down the stretch, getting big baskets from Abby Johnson and Chloe Williams in the final minutes to seal the victory.
The win is a positive step for an SDSU team that is looking to rebound from a disappointing season last year. With many new players and a new head coach the team is still trying to find its identity. Saturday’s game was a step in the right direction, as the Jacks showed they can compete with one of the best teams in the conference.
