Opinion: Why the Cardinals must make a move to bolster their bullpen

The St. Louis Cardinals have been linked to several Relief pitchers in trade rumors as the July 31 deadline approaches, and it’s easy to see why.

The team’s bullpen has been a major weakness all season, with a 4.67 ERA that ranks 23rd in the majors. The relievers have also blown 13 saves, which is tied for the second-most in the majors.

The Cardinals have tried to address the problem by making multiple trades for relievers, but those acquisitions have not worked out. Steve Cishek, Luke Gregerson and Bud Norris have all been disappointing, and losing Tyler Lyons to an injury was a big blow.

So far, General Manager Michael Girsch has been content to wait for the offense to start clicking and the starting pitchers to go deeper into games, but that strategy is not working. The Cardinals are 4 1/2 games behind the Cubs in the NL Central and their playoff chances are fading.

-The Cubs are close to signing free agent pitcher Dallas Keuchel.
-The White Sox are interested in trading for Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto.

Baseball history

The Game of Baseball has a long and storied history. It is thought to have originated in England in the 18th century, and it was brought to the United States by immigrants in the 19th century. The game has undergone many changes since then, and it has become one of the most popular sports in the world.

Baseball is played between two teams of nine players each, who take turns batting and fielding. The object of the game is to score runs by hitting a ball and then running around a diamond-shaped infield. The team with the most runs at the end of nine innings wins the game.

There are three basic types of pitches that a pitcher can throw: a fastball, a curveball, and a changeup. A fastball is a pitch that is thrown very fast, usually over 90 miles per hour A curveball is a pitch that curves suddenly as it reaches the batter, making it hard to hit. A changeup is a pitch that changing speed or direction as it nears home plate also making it hard to hit.

Baseball is typically played outdoors on grass fields, but it can also be played on artificial turf or indoors in arenas. The game can be played at casual or professional levels. professional baseball leagues exist all over the world, including Major League Baseball in North America Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan, and various leagues throughout Europe and Asia.
