led by Head Coach Tony D’Angelo, the Stone high school Baseball Team has worked tirelessly to put themselves in a position to make a run at the playoffs. With a record of 9-3, the team is currently in second place in their division and is looking to clinch a spot in the postseason.

The Team

The team has been Hitting the ball well all season, and their pitching has been solid. They have also been playing great defense. In their last game, they shut out their opponents, 3-0.

The Stone high school Baseball Team is on a roll and making a run for the playoffs. The team’s success is due in large part to the outstanding pitching of senior ace, Jake Anderson. In his last three starts, Anderson has pitched complete game shutouts against league rivals Jefferson and Lincoln. If Anderson can continue to pitch at this high level, Stone has a good chance of making a deep run in the playoffs.

The Legacy

“We’ve always been a good team, but this year we’re really coming together and playing like a team,” said senior catcher Jake Rollins. “We have a chance to do something special.”
The team’s success is due in part to the leadership of its senior class, which includes Rollins, pitcher/first baseman Jack Bartlett, and shortstop/second baseman Matt Murphy.
“Our seniors have been great leaders,” said head coach Mike Mullen. “They’ve been through the ups and downs of high school baseball and they’re helping to show our younger guys what it takes to be successful.”
The team’s youth has also been a key factor in its success. Freshmen such as second baseman Rookie Allen and pitcher/center fielder Carter Wilkie have made significant contributions.
“It’s exciting to see our young guys stepping up and playing big roles on the team,” said Bartlett. “They’re going to be the leaders of this program for years to come.”
