TCU Baseball: Overview
The TCU Horned Frogs baseball team represents Texas Christian University in NCAA Division I college baseball The team competes in the Big 12 Conference. They are currently coached by Jim Schlossnagle and play their home games on John Hancock Field at Lupton Stadium, located on campus in Fort Worth Texas.
In June 2009, TCU was selected as one of 16 host sites for the 2009 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament In 2010, TCU again hosted the Fort Worth Regional and Super Regional becoming the first school ever to do so in consecutive years.
The 2011 season marked the move of the TCU Horned Frogs to the Big 12 Conference. In their inaugural season in the conference, they finished tied for first place with a 9–9 record and won the conference tournament to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament They earned a #3 national seed and hosted their fourth straight regional, which they won. They then went on to host their second straight Super Regional which they also won to advance to the College World Series for only the second time in school history. At the CWS, they went 2–2 and did not advance out of pool play. They finished against UCLA with an 8–1 victory to end their season with a 53–19 record, tying a school record for wins in a season.
The Team
The TCU Baseball Team is one of the most successful programs in recent years They have made the NCAA Tournament six times in the last seven years, including a trip to the College World Series in 2014. The team is led by Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle, who has been at TCU since 2004.
The team’s success is largely due to their pitching staff, which is consistently among the best in the nation. In 2017, their pitching staff had a combined ERA of 2.82, which was the second-best in the country. The team also has a strong offense, which is led by senior first baseman and outfielder Josh Elander.

The Venue
The regional will be held at TCU’s Lupton Stadium, which has a capacity of 4,500. The stadium is located on the north side of campus, off of University Drive.

The Fans
Whether you’re a TCU fan or not, the 2017 College World Series was a great showcase of what college baseball is all about. And while Omaha is the mecca of college baseball Fort Worth has become a regional stop for the sport in recent years This year is no different, as TCU will be hosting a regional for the third time in four years. Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning on attending any of the games.
The first thing you need to know is that TCU does not allow outside food or drink into their stadium. This includes water bottles and energy drinks. So if you’re trying to save some money on concessions, you’re out of luck. The good news is that there are plenty of food and drink options inside the stadium, including beer and wine for those 21 and over.
Another thing to keep in mind is that TCU fans are some of the most passionate in all of college baseball They are known for being loud and rowdy, so if you’re not used to that kind of atmosphere, be prepared. But regardless of whether you’re cheering for TCU or their opponent, there’s no doubt that the atmosphere at these games will be electric.
The Game
The TCU baseball team is set to take on the University of Central Florida in the first game of the Fort Worth Regional at Lupton Stadium. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m. Friday. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
The After-party
