Thanks to 46 Free-throw attempts
The Texas Longhorns men’s Basketball team fell to the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, December 5th. The final score was 92-88, but it was the 46 free-throw attempts that allowed Purdue to come out on top.
Texas Longhorns Head Coach Shaka Smart was not happy with the officiating, saying “I thought it was very disappointing…I don’t think our guys fouled that much. I think it was a matter of them being more aggressive than us.”
The 46 free throw attempts is not only a season-high for Purdue, but it’s also a Texas Longhorns season-low in free throw attempts. This stat certainly played a role in the outcome of the game.

Texas’ head coach Shaka Smart said after the game that his team “has to do a better job of controlling [their] fouling.” This is certainly something that Smart and his staff will look to address in future games.
