The TFA baseball team was the first of its kind in our town. It was a great way to get the kids involved in something new and different.

In 1923, the first Academy baseball team was formed in town. The team was made up of local High School students and played its games at the town park. The team was successful and became popular in the community. In addition to playing baseball the team also participated in other community events.
The team continued to be successful into the early 1940s. However, with the outbreak of World War II, many of the team’s players were drafted into the military. As a result, the team disbanded in 1942.
Though it has been many years since the team existed, it is still fondly remembered by those who were part of it and by those who followed its success.

The team is a varsity sport at The First Academy and competes in the Sunshine State Conference The team plays its home games at the on-campus Roy E. Watson Stadium. In its inaugural season, the team went 33-19 and won the conference championship

The team was made up of local high school students and was coached by George Wright. The Rivalries were one of the first high school teams in the country and they were very successful. The team won their first game against a rival high school team from a nearby town.
