The Clemson Tigers men’s basketball team is set to unveil a new logo for the 2019-2020 Season The new mark was designed by Auburn, Alabama-based turnip6 and is a evolution of the previous logo used by the program.

“We are excited about the new logo for our Basketball Program ” said Head Coach Brad Brownell “I want to thank turnip6 for their work in creating a mark that represents Clemson basketball both tradition and in a modern way. Our players and staff are looking forward to seeing it on our uniforms and around campus as we head into next season.”

The Tiger logo has been updated to feature a more modern look while still paying homage to the program’s history. The new mark features a stylized tiger head in orange with navy blue detailing. The word “Clemson” is placed above the tiger head in white letters with Navy blue trim.

The new logo will be used on the team’s uniforms, court design, apparel and marketing materials for the 2019-2020 season

The process of designing the new logo

The school revealed the new logo on Monday morning, which features a stylized tiger’s head in profile with large, intense eyes and whiskers that curl menacingly. The head is set against a shield that has Finally, the name “Tiger” is written across the bottom in a bold, italic font.

“It was important to us that the new logo encapsulate the strength, determination and pride of our Basketball Program and our university,” said Director of Athletics Ray Tanner. “We feel like this mark does that and gives us a look that will be unique and instantly recognizable. We are excited about its debut this season.”

The new logo was designed by Jason Trachtman of Skybox Creative, who has also worked with the likes of Nike, Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League Trachtman said his goal was to create something that would be “bold, aggressive and modern” while still paying homage to the tradition of Clemson basketball

“When you first see it you know it’s Clemson, but it also feels fresh and new, which is what we wanted,” he said.
