In May 2021, Hockey Canada announced that the 2021 U17 World Challenge in Summerside, Prince Edward Island would serve as selection camp for Canada’s national junior team.

The 2022 U18 World Championship will feature ten teams with each team playing four round-robin games. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals with the winners advancing to the gold medal game and the losers playing in the bronze medal game.

All games will be played at the Phantoms Eispalast arena which has a capacity of 3,500 people.

The 2022 U18 World Championship Hockey Tournament will be held from May 6-16, 2022 inEdmonton, Alberta, Canada. The tournament will feature 16 nations divided into two groups of eight for the preliminary round.
