The University of Rio Grande Baseball Team is coming off a historic 2018 campaign in which it won a school-record 41 games, captured both the regular season and tournament titles in the highly-competitive River States Conference and made its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Midwest regional tournament
With nearly the entire team returning this spring and playing its home games at beautiful Bob Wren Stadium – widely regarded as one of the finest facilities in all of NCAA Division II baseball – head coach Chris Robinson and his staff have set their sights on taking things even further in 2019.
“Our goal every year is to win our conference championship and get to the NCAA tournament ” said Robinson, who enters his 13th season at the helm of the Rio baseball program “We feel like we have the personnel to do that again this year.”
