The 2019 season for the University of Wisconsin Badgers baseball team is just around the corner. Here is the team’s roster.

Introducing the 2019 UW Baseball Roster

The 2019 UW Baseball Team is an experienced group with a lot of firepower. As a team, they will look to build on last year’s success and make a run at the conference title

The roster is filled with experienced players who have been key contributors for the team in the past. The 2019 season will be no different, as these players will look to lead the team to victory.

Infielders

The infield is the area of the baseball diamond that includes the dirt portion of the field between first, second, and third base.

The UW Baseball Team has a strong infield for the 2019 season.

Designated Hitters

Designated Hitters
Player name, class, position

Tyler Abey (JR) – Designated hitter
Abey is a returning starter for the Huskies and will be the primary designated hitter this season. He batted .297 with three home runs and 15 RBI last season.

Sam Coburn (SO) – OF/DH
Coburn is a versatile player who can play both outfield and serve as a designated hitter He hit .222 with one home run and eight RBI last season.

Utility Players

The utility player is a baseball player who plays several different positions, giving the team more flexibility in putting together a lineup. A utility player may play one day at first base, and the next day in left field He might also be called upon to play shortstop, second base, or center field. In general, utility players are not as skilled as regulars at any one position, but they are valuable because they give the manager more options.

The 2019 UW baseball team has several utility players who will see time at multiple positions this season. Here is a list of those players:

Coaches

UW’s baseball program is led by Head Coach Chet Anekwe and assistant coaches Brandyn McKinney and Braden Kelley. Coach Anekwe is entering his fourth year as the UW head coach while McKinney and Kelley are each in their third year with the program.
