Introduction

David Williams II (6’7, SF, 2020)
Williams is a rangy and lanky small forward prospect out of Long Beach California. He is an excellent athlete with a long wingspan and a high motor. Williams is a very good defender with the ability to guard multiple positions. On offense, he is a good shooter with range beyond the three-point line He needs to continue to work on his ball-handling and passing skills, but he has the potential to be a very good all-around player at the collegiate level.

Isaiah Mobley (6’10, PF/C, 2020)
Mobley is one of the top prospects in the nation regardless of position. He is a big and strong post player with excellent footwork. Mobley has very good hands and touch around the basket. He is an adequate shooter from mid-range but will need to continue to develop his Three-point shooting skills. On defense, he is a very good shot blocker and rebounder. Mobley has the potential to be an elite level player at the collegiate level and should be able to contribute immediately.

Evan Mobley (6’10, PF/C, 2020)
Evan Mobley is twins with Isaiah Mobley and they are both high-Level Prospects Evan is slightly taller and longer than Isaiah but does not have quite the same level of strength or explosiveness. Evan is more of a finesse player than his brother. He has excellent footwork and touch around the basket. He also has very good playmaking skills for a big man and is an excellent passer out of double teams in the post. On defense, he needs to continue to work on his strength and explosiveness but has the potential to be an elite level shot blocker at the collegiate level.

Vanderbilt’s Top Recruits

In order to be successful, a NCAA Division I Basketball Program has to bring in top recruits These are the High School seniors that choose to play for a university rather than going straight to the NBA. Vanderbilt has had success in recent years and their recruiting class for 2020 is no different. Here are some of the top recruits that will be donning the black and gold next season.

5-Star Prospects
Vanderbilt currently has two 5-star recruits for the 2020 season. These are the highest-rated prospects in the country and usually go on to be All-Americans and potential first-round picks in the NBA draft

JB Mauney is a 6’7″ small forward from Chicago, Illinois. He’s ranked as the 11th best player in the country by 247Sports Composite Rating. He’s a versatile player that can score from anywhere on the court. He’s also an excellent rebounder and defender.

Dylan Cardwell is a 6’10” Power Forward from Mobile, Alabama. He’s ranked as the 16th best player in the country by 247Sports Composite Rating. He’s a physical presence in the post with a good offensive skillset. He’s also a very good rebounder and shot blocker.

4-Star Prospects
Vanderbilt also has two 4-star recruits for 2020. These are still very good players that will make an impact at the collegiate level but aren’t quite on the same level as 5-Star Prospects

Isaiah Rice is a 6’1″ point guard from Detroit, Michigan. He’s ranked as the 54th best player in the country by 247Sports Composite Rating. He’s an excellent shooter and playmaker with good size for his position. He needs to improve his defense but has all of the tools to be a very good player at Vanderbilt.

Jaden Moody is a 6’8″ power forward from Memphis, Tennessee. He’s ranked as the 61st best player in the country by 247Sports Composite Rating. Moody is another big body that can play inside and out on offense. On defense, he uses his size and length well to block shots and rebound

The class of 2020 features five-star point guard Dylan Cardwell, as well as four-star small forward Myles Stute and four-star shooting guard Isiah Moore. All three players are ranked in the top 50 of their class by ESPN.

The class of 2021 features four-star shooting guard Jaden Springer who is ranked No. 11 in his class by ESPN, and four-star power forward Kennedy Chandler who is ranked No. 28 in his class by ESPN.
