Returning Starters
The West Point Baseball Team has announced its roster for the 2019 season, and it includes several returning starters.
Leading the way is senior pitcher Matt Hardy who was named a preseason All-American by perfect game Hardy was also named to the Cape Cod League All-Star team last summer after going 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA in six starts for the Chatham Anglers.
Also returning are junior outfielder Josh Smith and sophomore infielder/outfielder Michael Dickson, who were both key members of the team last season. Smith hit .276 with four home runs and 19 RBIs, while Dickson hit .288 with two home runs and 15 RBIs.
The team will also have some new faces this season, including freshman pitchers Jared Jones and Jack Perkins Jones was a highly-touted recruit out of High School while Perkins comes to West Point after pitching for two years at junior college

The team will have three captains this year, which is senior Chris Daddio, junior Brendan Looney, and sophomore Kevin Milley. The team’s first game is on February 22nd against Lafayette.
