It’s been more than a decade since the beginning of the new millennium, and Westwood basketball has continued to excel.

In 2000, the Wolverines won their first state championship in 20 years. The team was led by senior star shooting guard Allen Iverson who scored 30 points in the title game.

Iverson went on to have a stellar college career at Georgetown, and was eventually drafted first overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 1996. He went on to have a Hall of Fame career, becoming one of the most iconic players of his generation.
