After a one-year hiatus, the Whitecaps are back and ready to take on the 2018 baseball season Based in GRand Rapids Michigan, the Whitecaps are a Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers The team is made up of some of the most promising young talent in the Tigers’ organization, and they’re eager to show what they can do on the field.

The Whitecaps will play their home games at Fifth Third Ballpark, which underwent some significant renovations over the offseason. The most noticeable change is the new video board in left field which will be one of the biggest in all of Minor League Baseball The upgrades also include a new sound system, updated lighting, and a new Turf Field

The Schedule
The Whitecaps will begin their 2018 season on April 5th with a Home game against the Fort Wayne Tincaps. They’ll play a total of 140 games over the course of the season, with 70 games at home and 70 on the road. The regular season will come to an end on September 3rd, after which the team will hope to qualify for postseason play.

The Roster
Some of the Tigers’ top prospects will suit up for the Whitecaps this season, including right-handed pitcher Matt Manning and outfielder Parker Meadows. Both players were drafted in the first round of last year’s MLB Draft and are considered to be among the top 100 prospects in baseball.
