2022 NBA Draft: The Top White Players

The 2022 NBA draft is still a ways off, but it’s never too early to start looking at the top prospects In this post, we’ll take a look at the top white players who are eligible for the draft.
PG – Collin Sexton Alabama
Collin Sexton is one of the top rated point guards in the 2018 NBA Draft He played one year of college basketball for Alabama, where he was a consensus first-team All-American. Sexton was also named the SEC newcomer of the year. He is projected to be a lottery pick in the 2018 NBA draft
SG – Trae Young Oklahoma
shooting guard Trae Young of the Oklahoma Sooners is one of the top white players in the 2022 NBA draft Young is an excellent shooter with deep range and a quick release. He’s also a great playmaker averaging over seven assists per game as a freshman. Young has good size for a shooting guard at 6’2″, and should be able to put up good numbers at the next level.
SF – Mikal Bridges Villanova
Mikal Bridges is a 6’7” small forward from Villanova. He is a junior who will be 22 years old when the draft takes place in June of 2022. Bridges is an excellent shooter, especially from beyond the arc. He shot 42.3% from three-point range this past season, and 80.4% from the Free Throw Line He is also a very good defender, and was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 2018. Bridges is not a great ball handler or passer, but he is a very good role player who can shoot and play defense He projects as a late first round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft
PF – Mo Bamba, Texas
Mo Bamba is one of the top PF prospects in the 2022 NBA Draft He is a 6’11, 225 lbs big man who can play both Power Forward and center. He is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker. He is not as polished offensively as some of the other top prospects but he has shown the ability to score inside and out. He would be a good fit for a team that needs help inside, especially on defense.
C – Deandre Ayton Arizona
The 7’1”, 250 pound center from the Bahamas is a physical specimen. He runs the court like a gazelle, has an NBA-ready body and is an elite shot blocker. He averaged 20.1 points, 11.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game as a freshman at Arizona. Ayton is also an excellent finisher around the rim and has a soft touch for a big man. He will be one of the Top Picks in the 2018 NBA Draft and should be a starter from day one in the league.
G – Lonnie Walker, Miami
G – Lonnie Walker, Miami: Walker was a key player off the bench for the championship Heat, averaging 9.4 points in 22.6 minutes per game while shooting 39.5% from three-point range. He’s an explosive athlete with a 6’10” wingspan who can play both ends of the floor.
F – Kevin Knox, Kentucky
Kevin Knox is one of the nation’s most explosive scorers, a player with a knack for coming up big in the biggest moments. He has range that extends beyond the three-point line he’s an above-average rebounder and he has the size and strength to body up with just about anyone in college basketball
C – Mitchell Robinson, Chalmette (HS)
Mitchell Robinson is a 7-foot center from Chalmette High School in Louisiana. He is the top-ranked white player in the 2022 NBA draft
F – Robert Williams, Texas A&M
As a sophomore, Robert Williams was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and led the Aggies in blocked shots (2.5 per game) and rebounds (9.2 per game). He also averaged 10.4 points per game and shot 62.5 percent from the field.
Williams is an excellent athlete with good size (6’9”, 240 lbs) and length (7’4” wingspan). He runs the floor well, has Good footwork and is a decent finisher around the basket. On defense, he is an elite shot-blocker and rebounder. He needs to improve his Strength and Conditioning as well as his offensive skill set (outside shooting, post moves etc.), but he has a lot of upside and could be a very good player in the NBA.
G – Anfernee Simons IMG Academy (HS)
Simons is one of the more unique prospects in recent memory as he opted to forgo college and spend a post-grad year at IMG Academy The decision has certainly paid off as he’s put himself into consideration as a lottery pick despite not playing against high-level competition on a nightly basis. At 6’3″ with a 6’9″ wingspan, Simons has excellent size for a lead guard and the athleticism to match. He’s an experienced ball-handler who can create his own shot and also possesses the ability to finish above the rim in transition. While his jump shot still needs some work, Simons has shown flashes of being an elite shooter from deep, which is encouraging considering his youth. His biggest weakness at this point is his lack of experience against top-level talent, but that shouldn’t stop him from being drafted in the lottery come June.
