Who’s the Oldest Quarterback in the NFL?

We all know that quarterbacks are the cornerstone of any NFL team. They’re the ones who lead their teams to victory (or defeat) on the gridiron. But did you know that there are a few old gunslingers still playing in the league? Who’s the oldest quarterback in the NFL?

Tom Brady

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is currently the oldest quarterback in the NFL at 40 years old. A five-time Super Bowl champion, Brady has played in the NFL for 18 seasons and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Drew Brees

Drew Brees was born on January 15, 1979, making him 39 years old. He is currently the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints and is considered one of the best quarterbacks of his generation. He has led the Saints to a Super Bowl victory and has been selected to 12 Pro Bowls.

Eli Manning

Eli Manning, who is currently 38 years old, is the oldest quarterback in the NFL. He is also the only quarterback to have won two Super Bowl MVP awards.

Philip Rivers

Philip Rivers, QB for the Indianapolis Colts, is currently the oldest quarterback in the NFL at 39 years old. Rivers was drafted in 2004 by the New York Giants and traded to the San Diego Chargers (now the Los Angeles Chargers) on draft day. He spent 16 seasons with the Chargers, making 8 Pro Bowl appearances and leading the team to 6 division titles. Rivers announced his retirement from football in January 2021.

Ben Roethlisberger

At 38 years old, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is currently the oldest player in the NFL. He’s also the second-oldest quarterback in NFL history, behind only Warren Moon ( who was 47 when he retired in 2000).

Roethlisberger was drafted by the Steelers in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft, and has spent his entire 16-year career with the team. He’s a two-time Super Bowl champion and was named Super Bowl XLIII MVP after leading the Steelers to a win over the Arizona Cardinals.

In addition to being the oldest player in the NFL, Roethlisberger is also the league’s tallest quarterback at 6’5″. He’s currently signed through the 2021 season and has said he plans to play for at least three more years.
