The Wyoming basketball Radio Network
The Wyoming Basketball Radio Network is a group of radio stations in Wyoming that broadcast University of Wyoming Cowgirl basketball games The network is operated by the University of Wyoming athletics department.
The flagship station of the network is KWWY in Laramie, Wyoming. Other stations in the network include KNEI in Riverton, KGOS in Cheyenne, KSWY in Casper, and KYDT in Douglas.
The network provides live game coverage of all University of Wyoming Cowgirl basketball games as well as pre-game and post-game shows.
The Network’s History
The Wyoming basketball Radio Network is a statewide radio network in the United States that broadcasts University of Wyoming football and Basketball Games The network is owned and operated by IMG College, a division of IMG Worldwide.
The network began operations in 2002, when then-Wyoming head football coach Vic Koenning approached then-Wyoming Athletics Director Lee McElroy about creating a radio network to broadcast Cowboys football games. McElroy liked the idea and gave Koenning the green light to proceed.
Koenning hired Larry Beil of Broadcast Sports, Inc. to serve as the network’s General Manager Beil then set about finding radio stations to carry the games. In total, 23 radio stations across Wyoming agreed to airing Cowboys football games on their stations.
When Beil had assembled the 23 radio stations that would comprise the network, he approached Koenning with an offer to buy the network outright for $1 million. Koenning accepted the offer, and the Wyoming Basketball Radio Network was born.
Since its inception, the network has expanded its coverage area to include parts of Montana, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and Nebraska. The network now comprises 36 radio stations across six states.

As the official radio home of Wyoming Boy Basketball the Cowboy Sports Network can be heard on over 30 radio affiliates across Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Montana and Utah.

The Network’s Coverage
The Wyoming Basketball Radio Network is a statewide radio network in the United States that covers the University of Wyoming men’s basketball team The network consists of 15 radio affiliates that reach all of Wyoming, as well as parts of Idaho, Montana, South Dakota and Utah.
In addition to providing live game coverage, the network also features a weekly one-hour coaches show and a monthly half-hour call-in show. Both shows are hosted by Dave Walsh, the play-by-play voice of the Cowboys.
The Network’s On-Air Personalities
The Wyoming Basketball Radio Network consists of 27 radio stations across Wyoming, and is led by veteran play-by-play broadcaster David Lange. He is joined in the booth by former University of Wyoming basketball player Joe Ritchie. JoeRitchie served as the radio analyst for Cowboy Basketball Games for 14 seasons before taking a leave of absence in 2006.

The Network’s Play-By-Play Announcers
Currently, there are four radio stations that serve as the flagship stations for the Wyoming basketball Radio Network. They are unwilling to give up their chairs for anyone, so the same four have been broadcasting Wyoming Cowboy Basketball Games for over two decades.
The lead broadcaster is Dave Walsh, who has been with the Cowboy Basketball Program for over 30 years. The other three members of the broadcast team are Sean Carlson, Matt Mooring, and Kevin McKinney. All four broadcasters bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the radio booth each game.
The Network’s Color Analysts
The Wyoming Basketball Radio Network is a radio network that covers the University of Wyoming men’s Basketball team The network consists of flagship station KFBC in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and a number of affiliate stations across the state. The network is currently in its third season of operation.
The Network’s color analysts are former University of Wyoming men’s basketball players Derek Colling and Mark Davis. Colling is a two-time All-American who played for the Cowboys from 1990 to 1994, while Davis played for the Cowboys from 1985 to 1989. Both Colling and Davis have been with the network since its inception.
The Network’s Sideline Reporters
The Wyoming Basketball Radio Network is a Live Sports radio network in the United States It is the flagship radio station of the University of Wyoming basketball team The network consists of 11 affiliate stations in seven states. Matt Michelsen is the play-by-play announcer, and Former Wyoming Head Coach Heath Schroyer serves as the color analyst.
The network’s sideline reporters are Kelli Johnson and Andrew Monaco. Johnson is a former news anchor and reporter for KTWO-AM/KGWN-TV in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Monaco is a former sports director for K2TV in Casper, Wyoming.
The Network’s Studio Hosts
Since the beginning of the 2016 Basketball season the Wyoming Basketball Radio Network has been anchored by studio hosts Brandon Archibald and Matt Petrie.
Brandon Archibald is a former play-by-play voice for the University of Wyoming. He has also called games for Wyoming Public Radio and the Laramie Boomerang, and served as a sports reporter for K2TV in Casper.
Matt Petrie is a former sports director for KGWN-TV in Cheyenne. He has also worked as a sideline reporter for Root Sports Rocky Mountain during UW football games, and as a play-by-play announcer for Laramie Plainsmen Hockey on AM 600 ESPN Cheyenne.
The Network’s Production Staff
The Wyoming Basketball Radio Network is produced by Play-By-Play Broadcaster Tom Morton and analyst Kevin McKinney. Morton is in his 32nd season as the “Voice of the Cowboys.” He has broadcast Wyoming basketball games on radio since the 1984-85 season. McKinney, a former University of Wyoming basketball player is in his 12th season as the analyst on Cowboy radio broadcasts. The two are joined by courtside reporter Dave Johnson, who is in his second season with the network.
