Team outlook
The 2018-19 Threads Basketball season is shaping up to be an exciting one. The team outlook is positive, and the players are eager to get on the court and compete.
The team has a strong core of returning players, including captain John Doe Doe is a versatile player who can score, rebound, and play defense He will be looked to as a leader on and off the court.
threaded roster also includes several talented newcomers who are expected to make an impact. Jane Smith is a highly touted freshman who brings a scoring punch to the team. She will be counted on to provide offense from the perimeter.
The team has high hopes for the 2018-19 season and is looking to build on last year’s success. With hard work and dedication, they hope to make a run at the conference title
Key returners
The 2018-19 Threads men’s Basketball team will feature a mix of experience and newcomers as the squad looks to build on last year’s success.
Head Coach Mike Thibault returns for his second season at the helm of the Threads and will have a few key returners at his disposal, including preseason All-American candidate Isaiah Thomas The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 17.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game last season and will be counted on to provide leadership for a relatively young squad.
Also returning are forwards Alex Newell (15.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg) and Ryan Miller (10.2 ppg, 5.4 rpg), who both played significant minutes last season and will look to take on larger roles this year. Newcomers to watch include forwards Marcus Smart (who played his AAU ball with Thomas) and Mohammed Kone, who joins the team after a successful career at the prep school level.
With a mix of experience and talent, the 2018-19 Threads men’s basketball team has the potential to be one of the best in recent memory – be sure to catch them in action this winter!
Key departures
The 2018-19 season will be an interesting one for the Threads, as they will be without a few Key Players from last year. Forward Robert Johnson and guard Tyler Dorsey will both be playing overseas, while big man Jeff Withey has retired. This leaves the Threads with a bit of a hole in their frontcourt, but they do have a few players who could step up and fill those roles.
Newcomers
The 2018-19 season will be an interesting one for the Threads Basketball team The team will have a new Head Coach and several new players.
Coach Devonte history:
Devonte Brown was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He played his collegiate ball at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a four-year starter. After graduation, Coach Brown spent a year as an Assistant Coach at his alma mater before moving to the NBA to join the staff of the Indiana Pacers He spent two seasons with the Pacers, before being hired by the Threads in 2016.
In his two seasons with the Threads, Coach Brown has compiled a record of 32-64. The team has shown improvement under his leadership, but has yet to make the playoffs.
Coach Brown is known for his intensity and his demanding coaching style. He expects his players to work hard and play tough defense. He is also known for his player development skills; many of the young players on the Threads roster have improved under his tutelage.
The Threads will have several new players this season, including:
G/F Tyler Johnson Johnson was acquired from the Houston Rockets in exchange for cash considerations. Johnson is a 6’7″ swingman who can play both guard positions and small forward He is a good shooter with solid athleticism. Johnson should provide some scoring punch off the bench for the Threads this season.
C Dwight Howard Howard was signed as a free agent this offseason after being released by the Atlanta Hawks Howard is a five-time NBA All-Star and a three-time Defensive Player of the Year (2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12). At 6’11”, 270 pounds, Howard is one of the biggest players in the league. He is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker; he should help anchor the Threads defense this season. However, Howard’s offensive game has deteriorated in recent years and he may not be able to provide much scoring production.

Conference outlook
The 2018-19 college basketball season is beginning to take shape, and there are a few conferences that stand out as the best in the country. The ACC is once again the top conference, with Duke, Virginia, and North Carolina all ranked in the top 10 of the preseason AP poll. The SEC is also very strong, with Kentucky, Tennessee, and Auburn all ranked in the top 25. The Big 12 is also very good, with Kansas, Texas Tech and West Virginia all ranked in the top 20. Finally, the Big East is also worth watching, with Villanova, Marquette, and St. John’s all receiving votes in the preseason poll.
National outlook
Last season, the Threads had a successful campaign, finishing with a record of 24-8. They lost in the semi-final round of the conference tournament and failed to make the NCAA tournament This year, the team is looking to take the next step and earn a bid to the big dance.
The team is led by senior guard James Worthy who was named first-team all-conference last season. Worthy is a dynamic playmaker who can score from anywhere on the court. He’ll be joined in the backcourt by junior guard DeVonte Brown, who is one of the best shooters in the conference.
In the frontcourt, junior forward Marcus Morris will look to build on his breakout season from a year ago. Morris is an athletic player who can finish around the rim and also knock down jumpers from mid-range. He’ll be joined by senior forward Rodney Hood, who brings a lot of experience and leadership to the team.
The Threads have high expectations for this season and should be in contention for an NCAA Tournament berth.
Players to watch
With the 2018-19 season just around the corner, here are five players to keep an eye on:
1. Zion Williamson The 6-foot-7 forward from Duke is one of the most highly sought-after prospects in recent memory. He’s got a rare combination of size, strength and explosiveness that has scouts drooling.
2. RJ Barrett: Like Williamson, Barrett is a 6-foot-7 forward from Duke. He’s not quite as physically gifted as Williamson, but he’s an excellent scorer and playmaker.
3. Ja Morant: Morant is a 6-foot-3 point guard from Murray State He’s an elite athlete with great vision and court awareness. He should be one of the leading candidates for National Player of the Year honors.
4. Rui Hachimura: Hachimura is a 6-foot-8 forward from Gonzaga. He’s a gifted scorer with a versatile skill set. He could be a lottery pick in next year’s NBA draft
5. Bol Bol Bol is a 7-foot-2 center from Oregon who is one of the most intriguing prospects in the country. He’s got great size and shooting touch, but he’s still raw and needs to add strength and polish to his game.
Season predictions
The 2018-19 NBA season is upon us, and there are a lot of questions to be answered. Can the Warriors three-peat? Will Lebron James and the Lakers make the playoffs? Can the Celtics get over the hump and make it to the Finals?
We’ve made some bold predictions for the upcoming season Check them out below.
The Warriors will three-peat
The Warriors are simply too good. They have arguably the best player in the world in Kevin Durant a two-time MVP in Stephen Curry a Defensive Player of the Year in Draymond Green and strong supporting cast. We don’t see anyone stopping them from winning their third consecutive NBA title
The Lakers will miss the playoffs
The Lakers added Lebron James in the offseason, but we don’t think that will be enough to carry them to the playoffs in a loaded Western Conference They don’t have much depth and they’re relying on a lot of young players to step up. We think they’ll be better than last year, but they’ll fall just short of making the playoffs
The Celtics will make it to the Finals
The Celtics have all the pieces to make a run at an NBA title They have a deep roster full of talented players, led by Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward We think they’ll finally get over the hump and make it to the Finals, where they’ll lose to…
The Warriors in six games
As we said before, we simply don’t see anyone stopping the Warriors from winning their third straight NBA title They’re too talented and too deep. We expect them to win in six games over the Celtics in what will be an epic Finals matchup.
