Beaumont United’s Varsity basketball team has had an amazing season so far. They are currently ranked 4th in the state and 3rd in their division. They have played a total of 25 games, winning 21 and losing 4. Out of those four losses, two were to teams that are ranked above them in the state.
Here is a breakdown of their schedule by month:
January: 5 games (4-1)
February: 9 games (7-2)
March: 11 games (10-1)
As you can see, January was a bit of a slow start for the team, but they really picked up the pace in February and March. They have had some big wins this season, including a victory over Monterey Trail, who was previously undefeated.
The team’s success can be attributed to their strong defense and their ability to make clutch shots. They are led by Senior point guard Jacobi Gordon, who is averaging 18 points per game Other Key Players include Junior shooting guard Jalen Celestine and Senior center Trayvon Reed.

The team is made up of fourteen players, all of whom are seniors. Below is a breakdown of the team’s roster by position.

Beaumont United’s boys basketball team is currently undefeated in district play. The team is ranked #1 in the state of Texas and #14 in the nation. They have won back to back district championships and are looking to make a deep run in the playoffs this year.
The team is led by seniors Chris Jefferson and Ja’Quan McMillian. Jefferson is a two-time all-district selection and was named the district MVP last year. McMillian is the team’s leading scorer and rebounder and has been getting attention from Division I colleges.
The rest of the starting lineup includes junior guard David Ewing, sophomore guard Demarcus Hodge, and freshman forward Tyrone Tarver. Ewing is the team’s best shooter, Hodge is the floor leader, and Tarver is a versatile player who can score inside or out.
The bench consists of junior forward Malik Jackson, sophomore guard Deon Steward, and freshman guard Josh Wilkerson. Jackson is a good defender and rebounder, Steward is a good shooter, and Wilkerson is a athletic player who can provide energy off the bench.
