Trae Young was born in Lubbock, Texas, on September 19, 1998, to Candice and Rayford Young. He has an older sister, Angel, and a younger brother, Tre. His father, Rayford, played college basketball at Kansas State and Houston Baptist From a young age, Trae showed interest in following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a basketball player When he was three years old, his family moved to Norman, Oklahoma so that his father could take a job as an Assistant Coach at the University of Oklahoma.
