Founded in 1975, the program has produced many Major League Baseball players, including former MVP Dale Murphy and current pitcher Craig Kimbrel The program has also won numerous state and national championships, including five straight from 2010 to 2014.
Jackson Prep is widely considered to be one of the best High School baseball programs in the country. Since its inception in 1923, Jackson Prep Baseball has been one of the most successful programs in the state of Mississippi. Over the years, the program has produced numerous Major League baseball players and has been a perennial contender for state and national championships.
In recent years Jackson Prep has solidified its place as one of the premier High school baseball programs in the country. The team has won six State Championships since 2000 and has been ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation on multiple occasions.
While the team’s success on the field is undeniable, what makes Jackson Prep Baseball so special is the tradition that has been built over the years. The program is steeped in history and excellence, and it is this tradition that makes Jackson Prep Baseball one of the most revered programs in Mississippi.
The Jackson Prep Baseball Tradition
The Jackson Prep Baseball Tradition is one of excellence. For over fifty years, Jackson Prep has fielded a competitive and successful baseball team The program has produced numerous Major League Baseball players, as well as several college and professional coaches.
The Tradition begins with Jackson Prep’s founder, Coach William T. “Billy” Williamson. Coach Williamson was a former Major League baseball player and manager who founded the school in 1958. under his guidance, the program quickly became one of the most successful in the state of Mississippi.
Over the years, the program has continued to produce top-level talent.Notable alumni include Major League baseball players such as Jeff Kent, Bobby Thigpen, and Justin Verlander. In addition to these players, Jackson Prep has also produced numerous college and professional coaches, such as Chris Maloney (UCLA), Butch Davis (Florida International University), and Mike Bianco (Ole Miss).

The Jackson Prep Baseball Legacy
Since its founding in 1890, Jackson Prep has been one of the most successful baseball programs in the state of Mississippi. The school has won 27 state championships more than any other team in the state. In addition, Jackson Prep has produced more than 60 major league baseball players, including Hall of Famer Frank Thomas
The school’s tradition of excellence is continued today by Head Coach Lee White, who has led the team to three straight State Championships under his leadership, the team has won back-to-back national championships and is currently ranked No. 1 in the country.

The Jackson Prep Baseball Dynasty
Since 2000, the Jackson Prep Baseball Team has been one of the most dominant programs in the state of Mississippi. They have won nine State Championships and have been runners-up four times. The team is currently coached by David Notis, who has been at the helm since 2006. Notis has led the team to seven State Championships and four runner-up finishes.
The Jackson Prep Baseball Era
Since the early 1990s, Jackson Prep has been a force to be reckoned with in Mississippi High School Baseball The school has won nine state championships and produced numerous Major League Baseball players, including World Series winners David Price and Huston Street Under the leadership of head coach Danny Carlisle, the team has developed a reputation for winning and for producing top-notch players.
The Carlisle era began in 1995, when he took over as Head Coach Since then, the team has won nine state championships and made twelve appearances in the Mississippi high school Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 5A Championship game The team is also a perennial power in the nation, ranking in the top 25 of MaxPreps’ high school baseball poll.
In addition to their on-field success, the Jackson Prep baseball team has also produced a number of Major League Baseball players. David Price, who won the American League Cy Young Award in 2012, is the most notable alum. Other MLB alums include Huston Street, Drew Pomeranz, Mark Melancon, and Wes Parsons.

The Jackson Prep Baseball Tradition of Excellence is a long and storied one. The program has been in existence for over 50 years and during that time, has produced some of the finest baseball teams in the state of Mississippi.
During its history, Jackson Prep has won 12 state championships more than any other school in the state. The tradition of excellence extends beyond just the win-loss record, however. Jackson Prep Baseball Teams are known for their hard work dedication, and sportsmanship.
The program has produced numerous major league baseball players, including All-Stars like pitcher David Price and catcher Mike Piazza Jackson Prep is also well-known for its outstanding Coaching Staff Many of the coaches have been with the program for several years and have helped to mold the team into a perennial contender.

Jackson Prep Baseball: The Tradition Continues
The Jackson Prep Baseball Team has a long tradition of success on the diamond, and that tradition continues this season. The team is off to a great start, with a record of 12-2.
Led by head coach Davey Johnson, the team is poised for another deep run in the playoffs. Coach Johnson has been at the helm for the past four seasons, and during that time, the team has won two state championships and made three appearances in the state championship game.
The team is loaded with talent, both on the mound and at the plate. Senior pitcher Ryan Day is one of the best in the state, and he’s surrounded by a strong supporting cast. The offense is led by junior catcher Matt Wieters, who is hitting .500 with four home runs and 18 RBIs.
The team has its sights set on another state championship and with its excellent coaching and talented roster, there’s no reason to think they can’t achieve that goal.
