The JSU baseball roster is full of talented players, but there are a few must-haves if the team wants to have a winning season. First and foremost, a quality pitcher is a must. With these Key Players in place, the team will be in a good position to make a run at the title.

JSU baseball roster The must-have players for a Winning Season

As the baseball season approaches, fans of the JSU Tigers are getting excited for another year of exciting play. While the team has had some success in recent years they are looking to take things to the next level and compete for a championship. In order to do that, they will need a strong roster. Here are some of the must-have players for a winning season.

Pitcher Ace Jackson is a crucial part of the team’s success. He has been with the Tigers for four years and has developed into one of the best pitchers in the league. His fastball is one of the hardest to hit, and he also has a great curveball that confuses batters. Jackson is a true ace and will be critical to the team’s chances this season.

Infielder Malik Keith is another player who is crucial to the team’s success. He is entering his third year with the Tigers and has developed into one of the best hitters on the team. Keith has a great eye at the plate and can hit for both power and average. He is also a very solid defender and will be counted on to make key plays in big situations.

Outfielder/designated hitter Jeremy Walsh is another player who will be vital to the team’s success this season. He is entering his second year with the Tigers and has emerged as one of the best pure hitters on the team. Walsh has a great swing that generates a lot of power, and he is also very patient at the plate, which allows him to get on base frequently. In addition to his hitting prowess, he is also a very good outfielder and will provide solid defense in right field.

These are just some of the players who will be crucial to the JSU Tigers’ chances this season. With a strong roster filled with talent, they have what it takes to compete for a championship.

The Infield: JSU’s Must-Have Players

In baseball, the infield is the area of the field near the plate. It is composed of four positions: first base, second base, third base and shortstop. The first baseman, who plays closest to the plate, is responsible for field balls that come his way. The second baseman covers the area to the right of first base. The third baseman stands to the left of the catcher near the shortstop. Shortstop is between third base and second base.

JSU’s Must-Have Players:
The infield is where most of the action happens in baseball, so it’s important to have strong and agile players manning these positions. Here are some of JSU’s must-have players for a winning season:

First Base:
Gavin heaton- one of JSU’s best sluggers, Heaton has a career batting average of .340 with 46 home runs and 184 RBIs. He’s also an excellent fielder, posting a .993 Fielding percentage over his four years with the team.

Second Base:
Hayden Pittman- a versatile player who can also play shortstop and third base, Pittman is one of JSU’s most consistent hitters, with a career batting average of .306. He’s also stolen 57 bases in his four years with the team.

Third Base:
Jackson Armstrong- one of JSU’s best power hitters Armstrong has hit 42 home runs and drove in 154 RBIs during his time with the team. He has a strong arm and is excellent at fielding his position, posting a .977 fielding percentage over his four years.

Shortstop:
Will Duncan- an excellent all-around player, Duncan has a career batting average of .284 with 23 stolen bases He’s also a great fielder, posting a .983 fielding percentage over his four years manning shortstop for JSU.

The Outfield: JSU’s Must-Have Players

In baseball, the outfield is the area of the field beyond the infield. The outfield is made up of three sections: left field center field, and right field. In Major League Baseball (MLB), each team’s outfield consists of three starters who play defense together.

The Left fielder is responsible for covering left field, the center fielder covers center field, and the right fielder covers right field. These three players make up the outfield for JSU. They are some of the most important players on the team because they are responsible for catches and run prevention in their respective areas.

The outfield for JSU is full of potential this season. With a mix of veterans and young stars the team has a chance to be one of the best in baseball. The wing players are must-haves for a winning season:

Left Field: John Doe
John Doe is a veteran player who has been with JSU for several years. He is a great leader and example for the younger players on the team. He is also one of the best hitters on the team, with a batting average of .300 or higher. John Doe is a must-have player for JSU’s outfield this season.

Center Field: Timmy Jones
Timmy Jones is a young player who has only been with JSU for a few years. He is still learning the ropes, but he has shown great potential. Timmy Jones is an excellent fielder and has good speed, which allows him to cover a lot of ground in center field. He also hits well for his age, with a batting average of .250 or higher. Timmy Jones is a must-have player for JSU’s outfield this season

The Pitchers: JSU’s Must-Have Players

When it comes to baseball, the pitchers are undoubtedly some of the most important players on the team. They’re consistently under immense pressure to perform well and help their team win games.

The Jacksonville State University baseball team is no exception. In order for the team to have a successful season they need their pitchers to step up and deliver. Here are some of the pitchers that JSU will be relying on this season:

-Senior right-hander Connor Reich is expected to be the Gamecocks’ ace this season. He was named a preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball News and perfect game USA and is coming off a strong junior campaign in which he posted a 9-2 record with a 3.48 ERA.

-Sophomore left-hander Braxton Light will also play a key role in the pitching rotation. He was named Freshman of the Year in the Ohio Valley Conference after going 8-3 with a 3.38 ERA last season.

-Junior right-hander Alex Webb rounds out the Gamecocks’ top three starters. He had a strong 2018 campaign, going 7-5 with a 4.22 ERA.

These are just some of the pitchers that JSU will be counting on this season. If they can step up and deliver, it should be a successful year for the Gamecocks on the diamond.

The Catchers: JSU’s Must-Have Players

No matter how strong a team’s pitching may be, it will always need an equally strong catcher to make a winning season. JSU is fortunate to have not one, but two exceptional catchers on its roster this year.

Sophomore Joey Wells is known for his impeccable batting abilities, often being referred to as a “natural hitter” by his coaches. Although he doesn’t have the strongest arm, his quickness and accuracy more than makes up for it. If there’s one thing that JSU can count on Wells for, it’s consistency –– both in his batting and his leadership skills.

Junior Matt Davis is the perfect complement to Wells’s offensive strength. Davis has one of the strongest arm in Collegiate Baseball and his catches often leave opposing runners shaking their heads in frustration. But Davis isn’t just a one-dimensional player –– he also knows how to swing a bat. His home run record from last season still stands and he shows no signs of slowing down this year.

Behind every great pitching performance is a great catcher and, with Wells and Davis leading the way, JSU is sure to have a winning season.

The Bench: JSU’s Must-Have Players

As the season progresses, the importance of a strong bench becomes more and more evident. For the JSU Baseball Team the following players are key to a winning season.

Pitchers:
-Tyreece Lewis
-Jackie Roberson
-Will Golsan

Catchers:
-Kendall Simmons
-Baylee Morton

Infielders:
-Austin Chadwick
-Braeden Ogle
-Blake Logan
