Mitchell Baseball is a men’s semi-pro baseball league located in Mitchell, South Dakota The league was founded in 1930, making it one of the oldest continuously operated baseball leagues in the United States
The league has seen many changes over the years, but its mission has always remained the same: to provide a high level of competition for amateur and semi-pro players in the region.
Today, the league is made up of eight teams from South Dakota Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota. The teams play a 28-game regular season schedule from May to August, followed by a playoff tournament to crown a league champion.

In 1887, the first Professional Baseball League was formed in Mitchell, South Dakota The Mitchell baseball league was created to give small-town players a chance to compete against each other in a organized setting. The league consisted of eight teams from eight different towns in South Dakota
The league operated for two years and then ceased operations due to financial difficulties. In those two years, the league provided some great baseball action for fans and players alike.
The league has been resurrected in recent years and currently consists of six teams. The teams are the Sioux Falls Canaries, the Brookings Bucks, the Watertown Wolves, the Aberdeen IronBirds, the Rapid City Rush, and the Winner/Colome Royals.
