The Notre Dame Baseball Team is excited to announce their roster for the upcoming season Representing a wide range of geographical regions, this year’s team is truly diverse. From California to Florida, Texas to Massachusetts, Canada to Puerto Rico these young men have come together to form a cohesive unit determined to achieve greatness on and off the field.

Fans can expect strong pitching and catching from this year’s squad, as well as power hitting from the middle of the lineup. The speed and athleticism of the outfielders will also be on display, as they look to track down fly balls and help turn double plays.

First base:
-Matt Vierling will be taking over the starting first base duties for the Irish this season. The junior from St. Louis, Missouri is a .267 hitter in his career.
-Daniel Jung will be backing up Vierling at first base. The sophomore from Keller, Texas is a .143 hitter in his limited time with the Irish.

Second base:
-Nick Podkul will be returning to his natural position of second base after spending some time at third last season. The junior from Yorba Linda, California is a .287 hitter in his career with the Irish.
-Cade Bormet will be backing up Podkul at second base. The freshman from Batavia, Illinois has yet to make his collegiate debut.

Third base:
-Cole Kmet will be back at third base for the Irish this season after seeing some time at shortstop and pitcher last year. The sophomore from Lake Barrington, Illinois is a .233 hitter in his career with the Irish.
-Spencer Myers will also see time at third base for the Irish this season. The freshman from Dublin, Ohio has yet to make his collegiate debut.

Shortstop:
-Niko Kavadas will be taking over the starting shortstop duties for the Irish this season. The sophomore from Notre Dame Indiana is a .250 hitter in his career with the Irish.
-Ryan Cole will also see time at shortstop for the Irish this season. The freshman from Mishawaka, Indiana has yet to make his collegiate debut
