Game recaps
The Gators opened conference play this past weekend against Sewanee. In the first game the Gators bats were on fire as they put up 11 runs in the first 3 innings. lead by Jeff Smith’s 3 RBIs. On the mound Starter Nick Johnson went 6 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 5. The Gators went on to win the game 11-1. In game 2, The gators again jumped out to an early lead as they put up 5 runs in the first 2 innings, but this time it was the pitching and defense that led them to victory. Starting pitcher Ethan Matsumoto went 7 innings giving up 1 unearned run on just 3 hits while striking out an impressive 13 batters. The gators went on to win game 2 by a score of 5-1 and sweep the series.

The Allegheny College Baseball Team has announced its schedule for the upcoming spring season. The team will play a total of 32 games, including 27 against North Coast Athletic Conference opponents. Steel Valley Conference rivals Carnegie Mellon and Case Western Reserve will each visit Kerr Stadium for a pair of games, while the Gators will also host Grove City and Westminster for single games.
Allegheny will open the season with a four-game road trip beginning with a doubleheader at Carnegie Mellon on March 3. The Gators will then travel to Chicago for a three-game series against North Park before returning home to take on Grove City on March 10.

March 5 – at North Park (doubleheader), 12:00 p.m.
