Brian Van Kirk’s baseball journey began when he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 2010 MLB Draft Van Kirk played four years of Minor League Baseball before making his Major League debut with the Cubs in 2014. He played parts of two seasons with the Cubs before being traded to the Texas Rangers in 2016. Van Kirk spent one season with the Rangers before signing with the New York Mets organization in 2017. He is currently playing for the Mets’ Triple-A affiliate, the Syracuse Chiefs.

He’s also had the opportunity to play in some big moments, including the 2016 World Series Though the Phillies lost that series to the eventual champion Chicago Cubs Van Kirk will always cherish the experience of playing on baseball’s biggest stage.

Brian Van Kirk is a former professional baseball player who played for the Baltimore Orioles the Toronto Blue Jays and the Chicago Cubs He is currently a baseball coach and instructor.

Van Kirk was drafted by the Orioles in the eleventh round of the 2007 amateur draft. He made his Major League debut with the team in 2011, and also played for them in 2012. He was traded to the Blue Jays in 2013, and played for their Triple-A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons, before being released. He then signed with the Cubs, and played for their Triple-A affiliate, the Iowa Cubs before being released again.

Van Kirk has also played for the Yorba Lindaн Blasters of the independent California Winter League, and for Team Canada in the 2018 WBSC Premier12 tournament.

Van Kirk then decided to retire from professional baseball and pursue a career in coaching. He currently works as a hitting coach for a local High School team in his hometown of Joliet, Illinois.
