The Hertel North Park Baseball Clinic

The Hertel North Park Baseball Clinic has been teaching the Game of Baseball to young players in the North Park community for over 50 years. The clinic is run by former professional baseball player and North Park resident, Joe Hertel. Hertel, who played for the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers started the clinic in 1966 with the help of his father, Joseph Sr. The clinic was originally held at Revere Park, but moved to Horner Park in 1978.

The clinic offers instruction in hitting, pitching, and fielding for players of all ages and abilities. Hertel and his staff of coaches emphasize the importance of having fun while learning the fundamentals of the game. The clinic has produced many successful ballplayers, including Major League Baseball players Kirby Puckett and Greg Maddux
