Jason Martin was born on October 9, 1997 in Los Angeles California. He has two siblings, Jaden and Jordan. His father, Mike, played baseball at the University of Miami and his mother, Stacy, was a professional softball player. Jason grew up playing both baseball and football but showed a natural aptitude for baseball early on. He attended Notre Dame high school in Sherman Oaks, California where he excelled both academically and athletically. In his senior year, he was named First Team All-State and First Team All-American by multiple publications.
After High School Jason committed to play baseball for the University of Oregon but opted to go pro after being drafted in the first round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016. He made his Major League debut in 2019 and is considered one of the brightest young stars in baseball.
