Oregon State’s 2017 season

As the 2017 season approaches, the Oregon State Beavers are hungry for another Pac-12 title. After coming up just short last year, the Beavers are determined to take home the conference crown this time around.

Led by senior pitcher Jake Thompson, the Beavers have one of the best pitching staffs in the country. Thompson is coming off a stellar 2016 campaign in which he posted a 2.12 ERA and struck out 101 batters in 93 innings pitched He’ll be flanked by junior Drew Rasmussen and sophomore Bryce Fehmel, who both had ERAs under 3.00 last season. With such a strong rotation, Oregon State should be in good shape to make a run at the title.

In addition to their strong pitching staff, the Beavers also have a potent offense led by junior outfielder Steven Kwan Kwan is a dynamic player who can hit for average and power, and he’s also a threat on the base paths. He’ll be joined by seniors Jack Anderson and Cadyn Grenier, who both had over 50 RBIs last season. With such a balanced attack, Oregon State will be tough to beat this year.

The Beavers open their season on February 17th with a three-game series against UTSA.

Beavers’ 2017 Pac-12 schedule

The Beavers are coming off a 2016 season in which they went 36-24 overall and 16-14 in Pac-12 play, finishing second in the conference behind only eventual College World Series participant Arizona. They’ll look to take that next step in 2017 and claim their first Pac-12 title since 2013. Here’s a look at their schedule:

Oregon State is currently second in the Pac-12 standings, behind only the UCLA Bruins

The Beavers have a big series coming up against the Bruins this weekend, and a win would put them in first place in the conference.

Oregon State has been one of the best teams in college baseball over the last few years, and they are poised to make another run at a title this season.

Oregon State’s returning players

The Oregon State Beavers baseball team will be looking to defend their Pac-12 title this season. The Beavers return a number of Key Players from last year’s squad, including all-conference performers Jake Mulholland and Joe Dart.

Mulholland, a left-handed pitcher, was named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year after going 10-1 with a 2.04 ERA in 2018. He’ll once again anchor a solid Oregon State pitching staff that also includes right-handers Bryce Fehmel and Brandon Eisert.

Dart, an infielder, hit .336 with seven home runs and 39 RBI last season. He’ll be joined in the lineup by fellow Returning all-conference selections Adley Rutschman (.408, 10 HR, 58 RBI) and Cadyn Grenier (.327, 7 HR, 49 RBI).

The Beavers will open the 2019 season on February 15th with a three-game series against Louisiana State.

Newcomers to the Oregon State Baseball Team

Newcomers to the Oregon State baseball team infielder Max Gordon and pitcher Kevin Abel both hail from California and are looking to make an immediate impact on the team as they compete for a spot in the lineup. Both players have impressed in fall practice and are expected to contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming season

Oregon State’s 2017 road schedule

In their pursuit of a third-straight Pac-12 title, the Beavers will face a challenging road schedule in 2017.

Conference play will see the Beavers take on Stanford, USC, and Oregon at home, and Arizona State UCLA, and Arizona on the road. Outside of the Pac-12, Oregon State’s non-Conference Schedule includes home games against LSU and Nebraska, and road games at UNC Wilmington and Maryland.

The Beavers will also participate in the progessive college baseball Showdown in Surprise, AZ against Oklahoma State (Feb. 24), Texas Tech (Feb. 25), and TCU (Feb. 26).

The Beavers’ 2017 non-conference schedule

Oregon State Baseball announced their 2017 non-conference schedule today, highlighted by home games against UC Irvine, Gonzaga, and Kansas State The Beavers will also face off against crosstown rivals Portland and Oregon in a home-and-home series.

“We’re excited to announce our 2017 schedule,” Head Coach Pat Casey said. “We’ve put together a tough non-conference slate that will prepare us for Pac-12 play.”

The Beavers will open the 2017 season at Goss Stadium with a three-game series against UC Irvine from February 17-19. OSU will then host Gonzaga for a three-game set from February 24-26.

The Beavers will travel to Surprise, AZ for the annual Alumni Game on March 1st before beginning their regular season on the road with a three-game series at Minnesota from March 3-5.

Oregon State’s TV and radio schedule

Oregon State will be featured on television and radio a total of 16 times during the 2019 season, it was announced Wednesday.

Eight of those appearances will be on the Pac-12 Network, four on ESPNU and four on the radio. All 30 of the Beavers’ regular season games will be broadcast on either television or radio.
