Taylor Cole, who was born on September 5, 1990 in Hernando, Mississippi, is a professional baseball player who currently pitches for the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 28th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft out of Hillsborough Community College Cole made his MLB debut with the Angels on June 13, 2019.
Prior to his time with the Angels, Cole pitched in Minor League Baseball for the Arkansas Travelers Salt Lake Bees, and Mobile BayBears. He was also a member of Team USA’s gold medal winning team at the 2017 World Baseball Classic
In 2019, Cole had a breakout year with the Angels, posting a 3-1 record with a 2.48 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 44 relief appearances. He was one of the most reliable arms out of the Angels’ bullpen and became one of manager Brad Ausmus’ go-to options late in games.
