The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) has announced that the 2019 Division I, II and III State baseball championships will be held at Chattanooga’s AT&T Field, home of the Chattanooga Lookouts minor League Baseball team.

The three-day event is scheduled for May 23-25, with all games to be played on the Lookouts’ home field.

“We are excited to partner with the TSSAA and host the State Baseball championships at AT&T Field,” said Chattanooga Lookouts General Manager Rich Mozingo. “This is a great opportunity to showcase our facility and our city to some of the best High School teams in Tennessee.”

AT&T Field has a capacity of 6,340 and features a state-of-the-art LED lighting system, a reflecting pool in center field and views of downtown Chattanooga and the Tennessee River. The facility also has several group areas and suites that can accommodate large groups.

Chattanooga will be the new home of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s Baseball Championships officials announced Thursday.

The three-year deal, which includes an option for two more years, will bring the Division I, II and III State Tournament games to AT&T Field – home of the Chattanooga Lookouts – beginning with the 2019 season. It is a coup for Chattanooga, which beat out several other cities for the right to host the coveted event.

“This is a really big deal for us,” said Jared Bunn, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Sports Committee. “To be able to say that we’re going to have all three (divisions) of the Tssaa Baseball championships in our city is really special.”

The TSSAA said Chattanooga was selected as the new host site for the championships beginning in 2019. The four-year agreement will run through 2022.

Chattanooga has previously hosted the TSSAA softball championships and the TSSAA Ball State Championship game

Chattanooga selected to host TSSAA baseball championships

The TSSAA has selected Chattanooga as the host city for the 2021 and 2022 TSSAA Ball State championships, the organization announced Monday.

The tournament, which features 32 teams in four divisions competing for a state title, will be held atEngel Stadium andFinley Stadium. The event is scheduled for May 26-28 in 2021 and May 25-27 in 2022.

Chattanooga last hosted the TSSAA baseball championships in 2016, when more than 15,000 people attended the event.

AT&T Field opened in 2000 and has a capacity of 10,000. It underwent $3 million in renovations last year, including a new video board and updated concessions.
