USD Baseball is a team on the rise. After a rough start to their season, they have won 9 of their last 10 games and are now 2nd in their conference. With strong pitching and a deep lineup, they are poised to make a run at the conference title Led by senioR Elton Knebel, the team is looking to make some noise in the postseason.

The University of San Diego baseball team is a Division I Baseball Team that competes in the West Coast Conference. The team is currently coached by Rich Hill who is in his fifth season with the program. The team plays its home games at Fowler Park, located on the campus of USD.
The Toreros are coming off a season in which they had a 29-27 overall record and a 13-11 conference record. The team finished fourth in the WCC and made an appearance in the conference tournament USD was one of four teams to make the tournament, and they ultimately lost to Gonzaga in the semifinals.

The University of San Diego baseball team is on the rise and has an impressive schedule ahead. The team is set to play fifty games in the regular season with conference match-ups against West Coast Conference foes Pepperdine, LMU, Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s, and San Francisco
The Toreros will also take on nationally ranked programs such as Oregon State UC Irvine, Stanford, Long Beach State and Arizona. With a solid mix of home and away games, the schedule will provide a great challenge for the young USD squad.

In recent years the University of San Diego baseball team has seen a remarkable turnaround. After years of struggling, the team has now become a force to be reckoned with, thanks in part to the outstanding coaching of Rich Hill.
Under Hill’s guidance, the Toreros have won four straight West Coast conference championships and have made three straight appearances in the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament In 2016, they made it all the way to the College World Series where they narrowly lost to Arizona in the semifinals.
The team’s success is due in large part to its strong pitching staff. In 2017, USD had three pitchers who were selected in the Major League Baseball draft: Lucas Giolito (Washington Nationals), Cal Quantrill (San Diego Padres) and Peter Lambert (Colorado Rockies). Giolito was ranked as one of the top prospects in baseball and is already making an impact in the majors. Quantrill and Lambert are both considered top prospects for their respective organizations.
The future is bright for USD baseball. With a talented roster and a proven coach, the Toreros are poised for continued success in the years to come.

The team’s success is due in part to the coaching of new Head Coach Tony Gwynn Gwynn, who played for USD from 1977 to 1981, is in his first year as Head coach He has brought his knowledge of the game and his winning attitude to the team. The players have responded well to his coaching, and the results have been evident on the field.
The team’s success has also been due to the play of its star players Outfielder Mike Cameron, who was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the second round of the 2001 Major League Baseball draft, has been one of the best players in college baseball this season. Cameron is batting .395 with 17 home runs and 58 RBIs. He has also stolen 22 bases in 23 attempts. pitcher Mark Lowe, who was drafted by the Mariners in the fifth round of the 2002 draft, has been another key player for USD. Lowe is 11-2 with a 3.27 ERA and has struck out 102 batters in 101 innings pitched
