The Newcomers
This season, the Colorado State basketball team has five new members.
The first is freshman Jaden Flint, who is originally from Aurora, Colorado. Flint is a 6’5” guard who attends Regis Jesuit High School
The second newcomer is sophomore Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe, who transferred from Simon Fraser University in Canada. Raincock-Ekunwe is a 6’2” guard/forward.
The third member of the team is transfer student Raquel Avila other wise known as Rocky. Rocky is from Pueblo, Colorado and she previously attende Southern Methodist University before transferring to CSU. Rocky is 5’6” and she will be playing point guard for the Rams this season.
Fourth on the list is Ellie Woerner, a 6’3” forward from Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Woerner attends Wheat Ridge High School
Lastly, the Rams have added transfer student Sofia Lombardi to their roster. Lombardi is originally from Rome, Italy and she played for Loyola Marymount University before coming to CSU. At 6 feet tall, Lombardi will be playing center for the Rams.
The Coaching Staff
The Colorado State Basketball Roster for the upcoming season is still being finalized, but the Coaching Staff has been announced. Head Coach Niko Medved will be joined by assistant coaches Miles Simon, Dane Fife, and Ryan Miller.
The Schedule
The Colorado State Basketball Roster for the upcoming season has been announced, and the schedule is now set. The Rams will open their season on November 5th at home against Northern Colorado They will then have a short break before heading to Boulder to take on the University of Colorado on November 8th. The Rams will then have another short break before beginning their Conference Schedule Their first game will be at home against UNLV on December 3rd. From there, the Rams will play New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah State and Fresno State before finishing up their conference schedule with a game against San Diego State on March 3rd.
The Rams are currently scheduled to play 29 games this season, with 15 of those games being conference games. This includes two games against each of the other nine teams in the Mountain West Conference The conference tournament is scheduled to begin on March 7th and will go through March 11th.
The Outlook
This year’s Colorado State team will have a much different look than the one that took the court last season.
The Rams will have to replace all five starters from last year’s team, as well as their top six scorers.
In addition, they will be without their leading rebounder from last season.
It will be a taller team this year, with an average height of nearly 6’7”.
The roster also features eight new players, including six freshmen.
