Wiggins averaged 17.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as a freshman last season. He was named the Big 12 Rookie of the Year and was a first-team All-Big 12 selection.
“Aaron had an outstanding freshman season,” Kansas coach Bill Self said. “We are all very proud of his accomplishments and wish him nothing but the best as he pursues his dreams of playing in the NBA.”
The Thunder currently have two picks in this year’s draft: their own first-round pick (No. 21 overall) and Detroit’s first-round pick (No. 29 overall). Oklahoma City acquired the Detroit pick in last season’s trade that sent point guard Reggie Jackson to the Pistons.

Wiggins’ pre-draft workout
After an impressive showing at the NBA Pre-Draft Camp in Chicago, Wiggins worked out for the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday in front of Head Coach Scott Brooks and General Manager Sam Presti. This was the first time that Wiggins worked out for any team since declaring for the draft on March 31st.
The workout took place at the Thunder’s practice facility in Oklahoma City Also in attendance were assistant coaches Mo Cheeks and Rex Kalamian, along with director of player personnel Will Weaver. This was an opportunity for the Thunder’s brass to get an up-close look at one of the top prospects in this year’s Draft Class
Wiggins is widely expected to be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft. He is currently projected to go anywhere from third to fifth overall. While he has yet to announce which team he will be working out for next, it is safe to say that the Thunder will have their eyes on him come draft night.

Wiggins’ agent, Bill Duffy of BDA sports management told the website that Wiggins has agreed to sign a multi-year deal with the Thunder. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is believed to be for the rookie minimum salary of $25 million over four years.
The 20-year-old Wiggins was drafted first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 but was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of a package deal that brought Kevin Love to Cleveland. Wiggins averaged 20.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in his rookie season with the Timberwolves.
