In 2018, the Wylie baseball team made it all the way to the Class 4A state semifinals, where they narrowly lost to eventual state champion Grapevine. This was an incredible feat for a team that had previously only made one trip to the playoffs in their history.

Building off of that success, the Wylie Baseball Team went even further in 2019, making it all the way to the Class 4A state championship game. This time, they were able to come out on top, defeating Austin Lake Travis in an exciting 13-12 victory. This marked Wylie’s first ever state championship in baseball, and solidified their status as one of the premier programs in Texas.

Looking to capitalize on their recent success, the Wylie Baseball Team will be looking to make another deep run in the playoffs this season. With a talented group of returners and some promising newcomers, there is no reason to think that they can’t make another appearance in the State Championship game.
